The meeting was presided over by Sun Xingshou, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Chief Economist of the China Building Materials Federation.

In his speech, Chen Guoqing emphasized that carrying out the "trade-in for new" initiative in the building materials industry is an important measure to implement the decisions and plans of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and it plays a significant role in stabilizing growth and promoting consumption. He pointed out that under the guidance of relevant departments such as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Commerce, the China Building Materials Federation will pool the strength of all parties to jointly promote the "trade-in for new" initiative in the building materials industry to achieve greater practical results. We should fully mobilize the enthusiasm of all parties, strive for local governments to introduce more policy support, and promote the consumption of high-quality building materials products. We should continuously strengthen the publicity and promotion of the "trade-in for new" initiative in the building materials industry, guiding more enterprises to provide consumers with more green and high-quality building materials products, more diverse measures benefiting the people, and more convenient service methods, making it easier for consumers to "get rid of the old and be more willing to exchange for new". We should promote the "trade-in for new" and "green building materials to the Countryside" activities in a coordinated manner, focus on strengthening the promotion and application of green building materials products, and ensure that green building materials reach every household. It is necessary to effectively summarize experiences, intensify the publicity and promotion of the implementation plans for the trade-in program in typical regions and the trade-in models and implementation achievements of key enterprises, and form a demonstration and role.

Since the launch of the "Trade-in for New" initiative in the building materials industry in 2024, with the strong support of industry enterprises, a wide range of building materials products have been formed, jointly introduced by 43 key enterprises in 8 major categories and various fields, covering multiple categories such as lightweight building materials, coatings, ceramic and sanitary ware, ceilings and walls, doors and Windows, clothes drying machines, furniture and flooring. The implementation plan for the trade-in program, which is equipped with a variety of convenient services and preferential measures such as "delivery, disassembly, installation and collection", will be rolled out across multiple channels including all stores of enterprises, online platforms and home furnishing malls across the country, achieving nationwide and industry-wide coordination and benefiting a large number of consumers. It has become the comprehensive and widely covered joint action for the trade-in program in the industry at present.
